The Stripper
| 02.05.2020
The seafront in the morning is alive with wild swimmers. All of them extremely enthusiastic about their sport and a very happy and friendly bunch they are too. Some arrive already wearing their swimwear hidden beneath their 'Dry Robes' other change around the Victorian beach shelters or on the beach.
One morning a group of ladies were changing on the beach and for reasons unknown I started to play the 'Stripper' theme tune. The effect on the group was astonishing. In a trice they were dancing and using their towels as if they were simulating throwing their clothing off. I should add that this was all done in good taste and no-one was actually naked on the beach. Well, that's not exactly true as there is a bloke who goes in every morning in his birthday suit. He was also there this morning. Strangely, he didn't dance.
After their swim the ladies all came up to say hello and offered me some of their cakes, biscuits, and hot drinks. "Will you play for us tomorrow?" they asked. Indeed I would.
